Apologies - this comes to you at the 11th hour as the 25% off dresses promo ends at midnight on Sunday 12th June . There is still time for the fleet of finger and I really suggest you have a quick look.
Warehouse has delivered some brilliant styles, particularly in dresses , over the last few seasons, and I have rounded up,a few of my favourites. Given the time constraints, there are no hyper links but I'm sure you could, on this occasion, shift youselves to just Google ' Warehouse ' , couldn't you ? Come on, it's Saturday, what else are you doing until everyone else in the house gets going ???!!
ALL THE PRICES QUOTED ARE WITHOUT THE 25% DISCOUNT - add DRESS25 at checkout and the magic will happen.
NB: I find Warehouse quite small fitting , particularly round the bust, so if you are in two minds, and to save the pain of an exchange, then I would suggest that you size up . Or I could just lose weight but, clearly not in time for tomorrow!!
Starting with a dress I've had my eye on since it came out earlier in the season. It's probably a Marmite dress, but I happen to love it. It would at least give me the chance to nod at the Bardot blouse trend without sacrificing the scaffolding I require.
Simple and understated. Perfect to throw on and go.
This one will be great, dare I say it, for the ... Autumn! Shoot me now, I know we haven't had our excuse for Summer yet, but it's always good to look ahead . This will work with ankle boots as it gets chillier ( any time then ) and the sleeves and print are really dainty.
Back to Summer. Striking botanical print which is very current and a decent length, mitigated on the frump front by the split at the centre. Dress up or down.
Scatter Floral Sleeveless Midi £45
More fluted sleeves. Which turn a conventional Tee Shirt dress into something altogether more stylish and chic. Great teamed with pumps or trainers for a relaxed week end look.
At the other end of the spectrum a pretty Prom frock. Not that I'm suggesting you have a prom coming up but its a neat cocktail dress which will see you through right up to Christmas and for all those LBD occasions in between.
Sunray pleats are enjoying a renaissance. Anna Murphy, writing in the Times a week or two ago was singing the praises of just such a dress as this, which is also done in a lovely Jewel green. Perfect for packing, it won't crease and looks as good with flats as dressed up with heels. You also have the option to belt it.
Actually although I've included it and I'm sure Anna is right, I bought a similar one from East and ... It looked awful ! I felt enormous and with a belt it looked even worse, like an elastic band around a bag of peas ! It went back. It is very much on trend however and you might have better luck.
Another dress to put away for cooler days.
This dress comes in black and white backgrounds and, if it weren't for the fact that that the straps cross at the back ( and therefore require a strapless bra which I couldn't be bothered with for a day dress ) I would be very tempted. If you are fortunate enough to be more ' buoyant ' than me or more willing to suffer for your art, then I'd say go for it.
Referencing the iconic Self Portrait Dresees but for half the price, is this lace number. Again this style would see you right through to next season so, although not cheap , even with the discount, it might be worth the investment.
Back to pleats but this time far more wearable. This would be a great option as a special occasion dress, perhaps for a Summer Wedding. It's such a pretty shade of primrose and the midi length skirt balances out the pleats in the bodice beautifully. It also comes in a delicate shell pink. I would be tempted to wear more exciting shoes though !
Zapping back to the casual, everyone should have a denim dress. The danger with them is that they can look too bulky. Not so this belted number which looks very sleek . I would probably dump the belt if I wanted an even more streamlined look ( how we laughed at the thought ) . Wear now or with your opaques and boots as Autumn sets in.
This is only available on line in a 6 or 8 but if you are a tiny, it's an absolute steal. Beautiful pattern and top marks for all but high summer wearability.
More stripes. My weak spot, can you tell ? This is 100 % cotton so I would be willing to trade the fiddly shoulder straps and attendant bra issue for the pleasure of the fabric. If you see the logic.
I spied this just as I was closing the web site and had missed it earlier. I was caught by the clean simplicity of both the cut and the pattern which makes it just such a classic. I cheerfully admit to loving what is different and novel - like those weird shoulder straps on the gingham sundress - but a wardrobe full of timeless staples is what one should really aim for. Interspersed with some fun of course. This dress is elegant yet cool and is perfect for the office on a Summer's day but works equally well, dressed up or down with heels or slides, for your ' home time '. I have to nip into town this morning so.......
Stencil Floral Dress £55
Hope that you enjoyed the whistle stop tour of Warehouse's dresses and that you are able to snag a bargain. If you have any comments, I would love to hear them. I would like to make the blog more interactive but its work in progress. In the meantime.... any way you can ! Have a good week end.
