I was delighted to find this luxe Radley backpack in the Next mid season sale. It was an absolute steal at £90 as it usually retails for £219 . I was even more pleased to receive confirmation that I'd made a good choice when I opened May's edition of Good Housekeeping . It appeared in "Your A-Z of What to Wear Now" and is every bit as lovely as they suggest. The neutral colour, a softer grey than appears in the article,is really versatile and I think will come in very handy for my trips to Town when style and practicality are required .
This funky metallic Backpack was featured in Woman and Home magazine in the April edition. It's £19.99 from New Look and the structured style and the delicate golden/ bronze colour makes it look a lot more expensive. It also means that it will go with a very wide ranging palette.I found the bag in silver a few weeks ago and snapped it up at the reduced price of £12.99. Bargin!
Beautiful Shoes
Keeping with the metallic theme- it's just so versatile- these silver flat T bar points from Boden £69 are truly beautiful. I like them so much and know that the style will be so useful that I bought another pair in blush pink suede ( below). They are a great transition shoe, the missing link between boots and sandals! They work well with cropped trousers and jeans as the shorter leg length allows them to shine and are also equally effective with a dress. They manage to be neat without being twee. The metallic is more stiff than the suede pair as might be expected but I'm confident that they will soon wear in.
I bought my shoes when Boden had a 25% off discount. Their offers are excellent and I recommend that you get on their mailing list in order to benefit as soon as possible.
Boden £69. In super soft suede, these delicate blush shoes were exceptionally comfortable from the outset. Although flat they somehow manage to avoid that dumpy, earthbound feeling - actually they made me feel quite nimble and light! They fit well into the coming season's pastel palette but also looked great with khaki- yes really! I teamed them with some khaki skinny jeans and a plain top with great success. The happy effect of the colour is to elongate the leg so,paired with cropped trousers, they avoid a foreshortened calf.
Back to the pastel palette, yesterday's Times (4/4/15) " What to buy Now" ran an article on the new shades. Although without the studs , this Boden shoe is very similar to that of the Valentino (£610 harrods.com) and colour wise is more than a nod to a Rochas sling back (£375 matchesfashion.com) and a pretty pink pump by Russell and Bromley (£115 russellandbromley.co.uk).
This style ( Flat T Bar Point) also comes in Navy and Black Leather and Butter (Pale Yellow) Suede.
I've had a real run on Boden I now see! This is not a Boden blog ,I promise , but their shoes are so good this season that I must share them with you. In fact these are not even the final pair- the most joyous finds are yet to come. Anyway, at first glance these flats ( Boden £89) might seem a little Riverdance but trust me, they really work. Being suede these navy ones are again extremely comfortable .They are also made in Jaffa (orange) suede and Silver Metallic. I tried them in the silver but found the metallic finish didn't really lend itself to the laces- they look better in more flexible suede.
AND FINALLY ....THE most luscious shoes on the High Street ( well, the Web!) Boden Alice £119 . These beautiful offerings come in high and mid heel.A brilliant idea. I want to be able to actually walk and wear these gems and I fear that the higher option would prevent me from getting far.Still, if you can walk in heels, the higher pair are undoubtedly the more glamorous. I ordered these weeks ago and still await delivery so I can't vouch for their comfort - yet- but since my order they have appeared in the Press to much acclaim. Lisa Armstrong in The Telegraph and Anna Murphy in The Times (Wednesday 1st April) both recommended them and they appeared in Good Housekeeping's May issue along with the Radley bag (above). How clever did I feel?!!
These are the original Happy Shoes. The clever colour combinations remind me of a bag of Jellybeans or Starburst! They will look as dramatic and surprising with jeans as with a dress. What's not to love?
