Work Dresses, Sale Prices

I am completely spent up . The back of the door in my spare room is groaning under the weight of my sale buys - most to be returned you understand - so I am forbidden any more purchases. I cannot resist opening those e mails, advising me of those final, final reductions though so, on your behalf, I have had a quick swizz through a few web sites. I have focussed on Work dresses, things that you can wear now and those which will carry you through to the Autumn. Well, in most cases. Some I just like for now!

Starting with my favourite Ted Baker number. I love the juxtaposition of the joyful, vibrant print and the austere, Tuesday Adams , style shift . This is going to work now and would look great with opaques and flat , patent plain boots later on.

Ted Baker Mirrored Tropics Dress at John Lewis £60 (was £139)

Smart but relaxed and easy to wear, this French Connection Dress is perfect to throw on and go.

French Connection Bonita Spring Stripe Tunic Dress at John Lewis £39 (was £125)

This Jolie Moi dress is perhaps a little 'girlie' for the office but add a masculine navy blazer and its going to work. You can have your very own Money Penny moment when you take the jacket off !!

Jolie Moi Print Ruched Dress at John Lewis £45 (was £55)

Next Sale starts in store tomorrow. As a valued customer (surprise surprise ) I had a preview and was able to purchase from the Sale on Wednesday. Whilst all the dresses I have included were available at the time of writing, if they have sold out, brave the crush and have a look in the shops .

Another relaxed fit. Maybe not ideal if you are petite- the pattern and volume may well overwhelm you- but a great option for everyone else.

Next Mono Print Dress £19 (was £40)

I spied this dress ages ago but thought that the price tag would mean it would end up in the sale. The fact that it has does not reflect its appeal. It looks both sophisticated and luxe and the fabric and drape is excellent. Put another label on it and you would be more than happy to pay double for it. I know its an impractical colour but for £32 you can afford to take a risk and add a little glamour to the work place.

Next Panelled Sheer Ecru Dress £32 (was £90)

Next Floral Lace Dress £32 (was £65)

I did succumb to this one as its just so useful. A simple, classic design.Dress up or down.

Next Premium Black Dress £39 (was £85)

Whistles is never cheap and this Palm Print Dress is a great buy. Stylish monochrome.

I  haven't shopped in All Saints for ages, not bothering to look on the basis that I was past it. Ignoring my own advice there. Isn't it strange the way we can dismiss other people's negative self image, yet fall prey to our own irrational insecurities?

Luckily, the dear folk at All Saints don't have the benefit of viewing their on line purchasers and so sent me their sale buys. ALL AT A FURTHER 20% OFF. Enter Promo Code EXTRA 20 at checkout.

I think these are both fabulous work to evening options. Just change your accessories and shoes.

All Saints Warp Dress £53 less 20 % (was  £88)

And in Navy

All Saints Sabie Wo Dress £39 less 20% (was £78)

All Saints Helix Dress £49 less 20% (was £98)

ASOS Sale has up to 70% off but the unusual combination in this dress caught my eye.

ASOS closet V Back Dress in Floral Jacquard £30 (was £55)

Boden Clearance is always worth a shufty. Most of the dresses are just too casual or overtly Summery to be considered work dresses. Not surprising given that its their Summer Collection I guess! Two styles stood out however.

The Betty Ottoman is a 60's inspired classic. Great for now on chillier days ( that's virtually always then) and for the Autumn.

Boden Betty Ottoman Dress £62.30 (was £89)

In Coral

Channel the 50's in this retro style shift dress. Its unlined, (a bonus in the heat)  but is still structured enough for business.

Boden Iris Shirt Dress £31-£47.50 depending on colour (were £79)

I'm promising myself no more Sale buys but I do have high hopes for you!

  1. If you are looking for a way to make the men around you awe in astonishment, I think that you should definitely consider wearing dresses. Many women think that the more they show, the more attractive they are, but the truth is quite the opposite. Men are actually attracted to myster and what can be more mysterious than a long elegant dresses?
